We used to have it on the old forum.... So I'm starting it up again!

What's your favourite card and why?

My favorite card is: Slippery Bogle (http://ww2.wizards.com/gatherer/CardDetails.aspx?&id=150999)

Edit: Because he's the bomb? I like him because he's a 1/1 with super shroud and it was something I wanted for awhile. And WotC decided to reward me with it recently.

Another edit: That and he's just cool looking. Little goober thing sticking it's tongue out at you! Like going neener neener neener!

I think my favorite card would have to be Deftblade Elite. I wish the provoke mechanic would come back.

Grave Pact

Fell in love with it when I first made a token deck with greater gargadon. You'll typically get a good effect for a creature sac, and taking out their creatures is such a nice bonus. Not to mention no creature is safe from it :)

Wild Mongrel (http://ww2.wizards.com/gatherer/CardDetails.aspx?&id=29777)

He's the MVP of my madness deck, one of the first decks that I've ever made (one of the first good ones, actually). It's gone from G/B to G/R, and it's pretty nasty if you're not ready for all of the creatures I can put out that quickly.

My favorite is one of my older cards that I got when I first started playing. Glorious Anthem. I still use it in a mono white kithkin deck today.

It's an amazing card to have a playset of in a white aggro weenie deck, (My Favorite). This card is amazing because using just one in a game will put a hearthfire hobgoblin at 5/5 double strike or a divinity and oversoul at 10/10. This card wins me many games while playing with weenies and i love it. The average outcome by the fourth turn is a light from within, hearthfire hobgoblin, sigiled paladin, and akrasin squire. I have won maybe 16 games by my fifth turn against prevention and counter decks. This card is like instant muscle for my weenies:D

Vigor.

Pretty much makes your creatures indestructable, and makes any damage to them strengthen them.

Vigor + Living Inferno = mass death.

My favorite card would have to be Spirit of the Night. When I first learned how to play Magic, my first deck was a black reanimator and back then you couldnt beat a 6/5 Flying, Trampling, Haste, Prot. Black. Only real drawback was its First Strike only when attacking ;/ I used to love throwing out Breathstealer, Feral Shadow, and Urborg Panther, only to sac them and throw SotN out in play an watch my brother's eyes bleed! ;x

Serra's Angel is still my favourite... She's so pretty and just generally cool! It was one of the first cards I ever played with and I have a big big soft spot for it!

My favorite is Grinning Ignus. Sure he's underated, a common even. But in the right deck, he is a huge pain in the ass. When he gets reprinted (because of the Future Sight timeshifted thing) I will be sure to build another deck around him.

This is a tough one because of so many fun and enticing cards to play with.

I do have a particular one in mind that is an effect that I have always been a fan of and have never not enjoyed seeing this card in hand. Time Walk. So nice for one blue and one colorless. At its least it is take a clean up phase, untap phase, upkeep, draw. If you have something good to go with it, it's deadly.

In close comparison, I have a fondness of Mindslaver The ability this card gives is too amazing. Activation alone without a Goblin Welder or Academy Ruins is great and a lot of times good game.

like I had said before, I like so many cards that are close contenders for a fav.

Knight of Meadowgrain. Best bang for the buck ever. 2/2 first strike with lifelink? It gets really out of hand with planeswalkers and glorious anthems.

magus of the future

playing with the top card of your library revealed and being aloud to play it. what I did was try to get a couner spell on top so that the opponent will think harder if he really wants to play anything.

Mine has to be:
Kresh the Bloodbraided (http://magiccards.info/autocard.php?card=Kresh%20the%20Bloodbraided|)
Because gaining the power of my enemy and then turning it against him makes me smile.

This is a fantastic card to have a play set in a white sausage aggro decks my favorite. This card is great because the use of a single game on a goblin will hearthfire of 5 / 5 double or divinity and soul at 10:10. This card gave me win many games that you play with sausage and I love it.

I gotta say my favourite card of all time isn't that good, it's just funny. I've always liked Opportunist, I just like the way he kicks his enemies while they're down.

Easily Thraximundar. He's a Legendary Zombie Assassin with a powerful ability, haste, and some stuff to build around. And he gets bigger, and he's a great general in my 3 favourite colours.

If I do have to choose I'd say Momentary Blink.

I have a hard time deciding on just one card, but if I absolutely must choose one, I'd say Gifts Ungiven. There are several reasons: It's instant-speed; instant = more options = more fun. It's a tutor; tutoring is an aspect of the game I really like, as it creates more chances to see the cards you want. I think tutoring rewards skill, rather than luck. It's also not a straight-forward card; Gifts forces you to build creatively around it, and make decisions around the current game-state and contents of your deck. This also rewards skillful play. Finally, I really like the artwork! Those cool blue tones are appealing to me.

Mine`d be Phage the Untouchable, ever since Legions came out i`ve been dying to get the card, now i finally have her! ><
She makes quite a mess of things when in play. And oh i love it when people use Lilianas last ability to put creatures into play when she`s in my graveyard.

Lol, i`d go as far as to say Phage is the worst general. As soon as you play her you lose, because you don`t play it from your hand, but from outside of the game.

scumbling1
08-27-2010, 04:25 AM
All joking aside, I really think that Phage is the better general. With a Platinum Angel, you could conceivably cast her. Of course, that's a fairly narrow cicrumstance; it's enough to simply state both are "skill-testers". ;)

Krosan Warchief - He's the base of my beast deck and I love playing beasts...and what better than a regen, cost 1 less beast :D
