LOOK WHO'S BACK! I've been with this site since before the Hacker-crash a couple Septembers ago. I'm the owner of the infamous "Member Database" deck with the 750+ comments. I kinda ditched out of Magic around Shards.

Simple question, is MtG worth getting back into?

If you left during Shards, than it won't be that difficult to get back in... You only missed 1 block (Zen block), a base set (M11), and Scars of Mirrodin was just released... When I got back into the game I had to relearn all the rules, and learn how to use new card types, like Planeswalkers... lol.

If you don't mind buying a butt load of cards just so you can play standard then go ahead. I say this because I used to use straight extended and legacy cards and would always get told in friendly matches that I needed to play type 2 (standard).
