Molten Rain Question

If I turn a basic land card into an artifact, say using Myr Landshaper. Will Molten Rain deal the controller 2 dmg?

When you use Myr Landshaper, the target land becomes an artifact in addition to it's other types so it would be both a basic land and an artifact. I would think that you may still target this with Molten Rain because it is still a basic land.

A: The land will still be basic. Currently, nothing can add or remove supertypes such as "basic" from a permanent, and making the land an artifact in addition to a land won't change the fact that it's still basic.
