Hi, I'm new at MTG and i'm playing a Black/Blue comb and i've been having a bit of problems fighting other of my friends who are using combs like green/white.

So i was wondering if any of you played a Black/Blue like me and had a few tricks worth knowing?

- Please answer fast cuz i wanna try owning :P

Well for a B/U deck you have to decide what your win condition will be. Both Black and Blue are not much of a beater color like Green and Red, however they make up for it with several effects worth working on.

Blue:
Drawing
Counters
Milling

Black:
Discard
Destroy
Damage

Once you have figured out what your going to use to win the game it is time to find cards to meet that end. For example, out of Blue I am going to choose Drawing and out of Black I will choose Discard. Of course while picking cards you will splash into some of the other mechanics.

For the deck to work you must choose cards that have a common goal. In this case I want to draw cards while making my opponent discard theres. In this game not everything works out that way, but we can take advantage of that. Underworld Dreams works with drawing to damage an opponent, so lets base the deck around that. Vision Skeins makes you and your opponent draw 2 cards, so in this deck it makes both players draw 2 cards and deal 2 damage to your opponent. Sign in Blood makes a target player draw 2 cards and take 2 damage, So your opponent draws 2 cards and takes 4 damage. Add some Font of Mythos or Howling Mine and you wont have to attack at all.

Making your opponent draw has a downside, they have more options to kill you with. In this deck you want to add some discard to get rid of any threats before you opponent can play them. There are tons of cards to do this, but remember that if you make them draw fast enough they will have to discard every turn down to 7.

Running any kind of deck like this needs defence, you need cheap creatures to chump block. Anything with regenerate will be helpful or just throw a Glacial Wall into the deck. Above all have fun making your deck, its not about winning, its about enjoying the game. Hope some of this helped.
