The card Edgewalker (http://magiccards.info/autocard.php?card=Edgewalker|) has an ability where future Clerics cost B and W less to play. Does this mean I can play a Cleric card with a cost of one mana for nothing (such as Mother of Runes)?

Only if the one mana is white or black. On the bottom of the card, it explains if you have a Cleric that costs 1W, then it will still cost 1 colorless mana to play. If a Cleric cost W, B, or WB, then it would be free.

yes mother of runes would be completely free
