I was wondering if anyone could put any input into my discard deck that i created? It seems good on paper, but will it hold against other decks?

http://mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=31231

I'm thinking of making a new deck based on deck discard, but want to make it solid before i get any cards.

i can go with Wall of Denial or wall a frost. good about frost is that it is blue but not flying. Wall of Denial is great but need 1 white. I could take out the 4 Memory Sluice because i will not have that many creatures out to benfit it.

Thinking about getting rid of Vision Charm for Brain Freeze. All i need to do is cast 1 spell and it is better then vision.

But what to take out for the hedron crabs. I didn't see those cards until i made deck.

I also saw Memory Erosion. Would this be a good add too?

Interesting idea for a deck. I've never seen Grindstone before.

I suggest adding a few walls to this deck in order to make sure you have some room to wiggle if your opponent happens to pull out some creatures to hit you with. A few good walls I like to stick with are Steel Wall (for cheap ground defense), Wall of Air (for those flying buggers), and Wall of Denial (super-powerful wall-god. lol). I'd normally suggest Wall of Vapor or Wall of Shadows, but they only have one defense point. And even though all damage by creatures is reduced to zero, a lightning bolt would make a quick end to those walls.

Your Grindstone idea is killer against mono-colored decks, and the Painter's Assistant just seals the deal. Try speeding up the process with some Howling Mines to get cards out of their decks and into their hands, then you can Black Vice them if you want, creating another win condition.

You should get a few Traumatizes in there. Perfect for those huge skyscraper decks, and good at making people generally pissed off. If your deck is Blue and Black, you simply cannot go wrong with Nemesis of Reason, which deck-rapes them every time it attacks.

Those Vision Charms, as useful as they seem, are kinda whimpy when you compare them with some of the other cards in your deck. If you're looking take anything out, I think it should be them. Replace them with Memory Erosions and punish them for casting spells by making them get rid of two cards off the top. *evil grin*

There's my suggestions, so hopefully I've been some help.

Thanks for your input. I was going to put Traumatizes in, but took it out because of the high casting cost. Yes i know that it is a great card, but after looking at my deck most of the cards are fast casting and with most decks being 60 cards the most cards if could deck someone (1 land per turn, that means the person already took about 12 cards from their deck so the most would be 24). BUT i forgot about those people that are new to the game and people that want to put everything in the deck. This would be a perfect card. Thanks for reminding me about these people. I will add this to the side board. You can always see the size of the deck before hand and if it looks more then 60 cards put them in.

I do agree it is lacking in the creature/defense mode. I put counter spells in there to help deal with the big ones, but will 4 even do much? I am thinking about taking them out and maybe adding another set of walls or something. So would keeping them in be good or bad?

I didn't see Memory Erosion until later and now thinking about it i agree with you. It might make them think twice before using a lightning bolt when half there deck is in the graveyard.

Maybe i will add wall of Denial in with fog bank. Fog bank is easy killed with spell, but it is a cheap cast for creatures.

I was thinking about the mines too, to get them to draw more cards. Then pushed them aside because it wasn't on the same theme of the deck. But it could help me too, so i can better get my cards. But then it comes down to everything else... what to take out lol.

Thanks for the help Qwerty30... it really helps.

Ok, updated the deck

Took out:
Counterspell
Memory Sluice
Induce Paranoia
Vision Charm

Added:
Traumatize (Side Board for big deck)
Brain Freeze
Hedron Crab
Wall of Denial
Memory Erosion

Went with Wall of Denial over Fog Bank because it isn't killed by a little lighting bolt or something.

Brain Freeze, because if i can even use it on the opponents turn if they are casting like crazy

Hedron Crab, i can at least use the ability once. Put him down then put down a land. If i can get him first turn it will be great. Plus could use him to block at least 1 creature.

The bad... I cannot counter anything now :(

UPDATE
Added Isochron Scepter to the deck. (Could someone confirm this artifact with me? From what i read it was it makes an imprint of a instant with casting cost of 2 or less. And for 2 mana i can cast this card. Does it go away after i use the ability or is it like a permit instant?)

and added Counterspell.

If Isochron Scepter does do what i think it does. You now have a permit counterspell on the table, if not you can copy brain freeze and twincast.

I took out Mind Funeral. Granted it is a great spell but it isn't a instant and having a permit counterspell is better then this i think.

Mind Funeral is how you win games....honestly along with Glimpse the Unthinkable it's by far one of the best milling card.

I would seriously consider putting it back in, isochron+counterspell is pretty useful so i'd take something else out

I like it. The infinite grind is nice.
