new player help!

So I just got a bunch of cards given to me by my brother yesterday and
there's no specific color and its mostly commons.
I was wondering what colors or booster packs everyone would suggest I get to get my first
deck started

when i started i added cards to the starter decks u buy at wallmart untill u feel that the deck is complete but i would suggest getting the alara reborn boosters cause they dominate

I had the same thing happen to me kind of. I ended up buying an Alara shards 75 card pack pack and ended up with some great cards. I'd recommend those because they give you decent amount of lands as well as a good range of cards... at least in my opinion.

shards was a great pack but im really feeling zendikar packs they work very well with other cards. you get to know what may possibly be coming in the future packs of worldwake
