Frozen core doubt

Hi everyone.
I'm new to the game, and i bought a starter horde DK deck and some boosters but i have a doubt about one card.

In the card Frozen Core it says that "Attached ally has -2 / -2"

So, does this means that if the target has 2life it stays with 0life until it gets damaged or it dies from Frozen Core?

If an ally have 0 health (or less!) its considered destroyed, so yes, it dies
