This column's all about the metagame, what people are playing, why they're playing it, and how they win with it. I'll also be doing Card technology and the latest and greatest innovations in deckbuilding. This is going to be interesting.... I just hope youll be honest enough to tell people things such as mill arent competitive. Sorry. Also, will this all be Standard? Just curious.

Mill's been competitive in the past, and it might just be again. Right now? Not viable, at least I haven't seen a decent list yet. I'll probably switch around formats at random, but my first article gets to be on the format I'm most familiar with. I'll definitely be doing a Legacy article in the future.

Sounds like a plan, when I meant competitive I am talking Vintage/Legacy. Not Standard, I know it was at one point way back when for a short time. Last Legacy/Vintage deck I saw for mill was Grindstone Painter's Servant, which isnt even Mill... its just combo ya know? lol

Legacy Mill isn't gonna happen as long as Dredge and Reanimator are around. It helps them too much.

of course not, thats why Grindstone + Painters is a one shot win. Its not mill, its combo. Also, Dredge and Reainmator arent even that big. Its Countertop, Fish, and Zoo that are really hitting it off at the moment. Reainmator and Dredge are way to easily hated on. I dont know to many people who dont pack some form of Anti Graveyard in their sideboards.

who cares? most people play 3 pieces of dredge hate. Any more than that and it cuts into their space for other matchups. A dredge deck can fight three measly pieces of hate easily. Just because you draw your hate against dredge does not mean you win. It just slows 'em down for a turn or so. (I play dredge, can you tell?)

Yeah, I can tell. I prefer 42 Land, if you wanna go as far as a Graveyard based deck, but moving over to 38 Land may be what I end up doing. Problem with Dredge and 42(38) Land is they just dont have the ways to combat Combo well. I play ANT, so when I know im playing either match up im pretty confidant.

eh, LED Dredge is still a race. I really like the lands deck, especially with treasure hunt. Treasure Hunt + Manabond seems really nutty

I actually built it, after building the Original and liking it I remade it and reposted a version of it on the vault a few days ago actually. It plays nice, but it just ends up being a replacement for Mulch and barely gets you more than 3-4 cards Max. Sometimes it ends up giving you more but either way its better than Mulch.

aha, that was the list I saw. I have no experience with the deck myself, because getting a tabernacle is a $200 pain, but it looked good.

I have all the Duals and Fetches so im pretty much set, the Tabernacle im working on at the moment. All I need. I can pretty much assemble every deck in Legacy with my collection, minus a few cards from each deck.

I've got a buddy who got me into legacy, i'm borrowing a dredge deck from him. most of it's foil, but there's a couple things that finding foils of will be difficult. Foil Sadistic Hypnotists, for example.

Wait... are we talking Dredge Dredge turn 1-3 win or..... Different Dredge?

I think we are thinking of a different Dredge deck here... The one im talking about never plays any Creatures directly, minus Tireless Tribe

no, this is dredge dredge. Sadistic Hypnotist is a dread return target. It doesn't kill instantly, but no hand means no recovery. It's a mean way to win, but it's worked quite well so far.

Alright, I have no idea how to use the PM system on this site... yeah I know I'm an idiot shhh. Anyway, this week I've already got an article lined up, but how bout next week we think over a few topics. I can give a basic run down on a few not so well known cards and you can give either a few deck options or something else. How's that?

I tried PMing you myself, but your privacy options are set to where I can't. Sounds good here, but you should really figure out the PM system, it's easier.

Alright, I have no idea how to use the PM system on this site... yeah I know I'm an idiot shhh.

Click on User CP, top left. Click on Options. Under the options there should be a section for Private Messaging, make sure you've got private messaging enabled in there.

There was a problem with Article Writer's forum profiles which I think I've now fixed so hopefully your PM stuff should now work again, sorry!

Alright everybody, I'm gonna have another article in about a week on both sections, cuz I'm going to PT:San Diego. I'll see what little coverage I can snag from the main event, but I'm gonna be playing a little bit of Sealed and a ton of Legacy.

I'll see what I can do, though I don't think I'm going to be able to get a whole lot of coverage. We gotta work out a way for me to do official coverage. But, if I'm lucky, I might get my Level 1 Judge Cert while I'm there. That would be pretty awesome.
